PGBC MEMBERS USING TIME & TALENTS...for Jesus

Most Sundays, folks can find Mr. Lance Fua singing praises to God as a member of the PGBC sanctuary choir. But many may not know that behind the scenes, Lance uses his God-given time and talents in many other areas of our church.

Lance grew up in Long Beach, California (just outside Los Angeles) with a mother and father who always encouraged him to go to church. Eventually Lance joined the Army and began a 20 year career as a military man. That job took him all over the world, from places like Alaska, Maryland, and Californa to Germany and Korea.

After 20 years of service, Lance retired from the Army and eventually found home, here in Foutain Inn, SC. That home, however, placed Lance, his wife, Ann, and their two grandchildren, Timmy and Jessie in the house right next door to our church. Talk about God placing you right where he wants you.

Before long, he and his family had received an invitation from Glen and Mary Stoddard to have a look at the church. Lance said the first time he walked in our church he could feel the Spirit of God in that place. The Monday night after that visit, one of our FAITH visitation teams reached out to Lance and his family. After just one visit, Lance prayed to rededicate his life to the Lord and join PGBC. In fact, Lance still has the recommitment card he received that day safely tucked into his Bible.

Over the 12 plus years Lance and his family have been members at Pleasant Grove, Lance has served in many areas. He has helped coach and lead out in the Upward Basketball ministry. He served in several capacities with our AWANA Club, ministering to children on Wednesday nights. He's been very involved with the Men's Ministry as well--helping with construction projects for church members throughout the years. And since 1999, Mr. Lance has worked with several different people to open and close our church facilities on a daily basis. He currently does that ministry by himself...every day.

After Lance rededicated his life to the Lord in 1998, he said "Jesus shined the light back into my life. I knewI was a Christian, but I had drifted away." Mr. Lance Fua is just one of the many servant-minded peoplewho give back to the Lord in this great church. He's using the gifts, talents and abilities he's received from God to serve and bring glory and honor to Him. How about you?
