Youth Mission Trip Report - July 18, 2010 @ 6:00pm

August 2010

Thank you for your prayers for our students during the summer months. We have had such a great summer and we have experienced such a work of God in and through the lives of our students.

As summer closes it is time to begin preparing for Judgement House which will take place October 7 - 9 and 14 - 16. Please pray how you will serve as we share the Gospel with several thousand again this year. To date we have had 6,828 go through Judgement House since we began the ministry and have seen 348 who prayed to receive Christ. Please pray for this ministry.

We will share with our church our theme and script for this years Judgement House on sunday, August 8 during our kick-off luncheon immediately following the morning service. All who will be serving in Judgement House in any way are invited to attend with your family.

As we renew our Sunday School commitment beginning in September, I pray that everyone will find a class to be involved in, that we may grow deeper, experience great fellowship and see men and women, boys and girls come to Christ for Salvation through our Sunday School Classes. May God do a mighty work in our church during this coming year! May we truly begin to "live Christ"!

In His Service,
Anthony

June 2010

The student mission trip this year will be to Hazel Green, KY and will be ministering through Hazel Green Ministries. This ministry is led by Lewis and Anne Faulkenberry who have been serving there in Hazel Green for over 4 years now. Our Students and College Students will be participating in a variety of ministry opportunities from backyard bible clubs to light construction, food ministry, clothing ministry and much more.

Wolfe County is the 7th poorest county in the United States. Nine out of ten people in Hazel Green, 90%, are unchurched and do not know Jesus Christ as Savior. We will be asking for help as we seek to minister in this area. We will need food to take with us for our team and we will try to take clothing for the ministry to use. Please begin praying for our teams as we prepare to share Christ in Hazel Green, KY.

In His Service,
Anthony

A Message from the Heart - Anthony McCaleb

It is so hard to believe that school is nearing the end of another year and summer will be upon us in a matter of weeks. One of the busiest times for the church is during the summer and when I say the church, I mean the members who make up the church.

Sadly enough it is during this busy time that we see lower numbers and attendance in Sunday School and in all of our ministries. This is due to so many reasons from vacations, to visits to grandma, to children's sporting events and so on. Most of the time this results in needing a vacation from our vacation.

I believe that time with family and taking vacation is very important. I know because it is one of the things that my boys look forward to each year. They see it as having Mom and Dad all to themselves. They love it and I do too. We generally try to plan some fun events and visit places that they enjoy. You may be surprised but this summer we will probably take a trip to see the new Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge, TN. Yes, my boys love to hear about the histroy of this great ship and the mystery that has surrounded it since it sunk. My youngest would interject and tell you the year it sunk as well as the captain's name at this point. Anyway it is something that we will do together and that is so important.

For our church, one of the realities that come with summer is the fact that numbers drop greatly. Sadly we will only see some families a couple Sundays this summer until school begins again.

My desire is to encourage you to make sure we are not robbing ourselves of time with God and Worship of Him. It is amazing the things that can pop up to distract our focus and rob our time with God. As you enter this busy time keep God and church the priority that He expects for our lives. In Exodus, God gives us a command not to have any other Gods before Him. I believe that our time, possessions, family, friends, and hobbies can become the focus of worship if we do not keep God as the number one priority in our lives. So many times people tell me that they wish the had stronger faith. The scripture tells us in Romans 10:17 that "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

So if you want to increase your faith, God tells us to be in the Word and study with other believers of the Word that our faith may increase.

May God bless your time with your family and may He bless our study together in His Word!

In His Service,
Anthony

Disciple Now and Living Proof Weekend

God has been doing great things in our Student Ministry here at PGBC. We saw 72 students participate in D-Now and saw 6 pray to receive Christ. God has truly been blessing in many ways.

One of the great blessings we have received lately has been the opportunity to renovate our student area. Many of you know it as the old fellowship hall that our Student Ministry has grown into over the past 5 years. As youth leaders we had a burden to see that area truly become an atmosphere that was inviting to students. I was reminded, by a friend, who spoke during D-Now, that when he was here 2 years ago we were talking about the dream of what we wanted to see take place in the student area. That dream included renovating the bottom floor and has now become a reality. Many of you may be wondering how this came about.

Dreams come True...With many Blessings and much Hard Work

Well it started with an anonymous donation to sheet rock the walls for a more updated look. From there we found that our windows were rotting and needed to be replaced and God opened a door for a great deal. Another anonymous person donated all of the corrugated metal and things began to happen from there. The wood that was used in the stage was recycled from the Oasis Skate Ministry. The automatic paper towel and soap dispensers were donated by a family member of someone in our church who heard about our ministry and donated from his business. Many of you helped by giving us money to paint and cover our chairs, and to buy counter tops, sinks faucets and cabinet hardware. We had vinyl lettering donated; track lighting donated and some supplies for painting donated; but most of all - time from many of our youth leaders, parents, and students. Everything labor related was done in-house except for hanging and mudding the sheet rock. We spent some money out of the youth budget and building and grounds but the majority of the renovation supplies and time were donated. Thanks to God first for the great blessing of a wonderful tool to reach students. Thanks to all who gave supplies, time and money to see a ministry grow and reach students with the Gospel!

Humbled By His Majesty,
Anthony
